Pin Punching Work - Excavation of dinosaur fossils
Pin Punching Work - Excavation of dinosaur fossils
This is an activity in which the child punches a small hole along the edge of the design and punches out the shape.
This design was created on the theme of excavating dinosaur fossils.
The children have fun punching out the shapes as if they were excavating a fossil.
The Montessori pushpinning or pin punching activity is a practical life exercise designed to develop fine motor skills and concentration in young children.
The child uses a small pushpin or punch tool to punch holes along the outline of the paper shape or pattern. Place the paper on a soft mat to protect the surface of the desk.
This activity not only helps develop dexterity, but also prepares children for writing by strengthening hand muscles and improving their ability to focus on detailed tasks.
The activity of punching small holes at very close intervals and eventually cutting the shapes out of the paper seems simple, but it requires a great deal of control and patience to get the punches close enough so that the shapes peel off the paper without tearing.
Recommended age: 3 years and up.
