This fun hole punch activity features animals living on Arctic ice floes.
Children punch holes along the dotted lines around the ice floes featuring a seal family, orca family, polar bear family, penguin family, and walrus family. While enjoying the activity, they naturally develop fine motor skills, hand strength, and concentration.
This activity can be enjoyed by children from around 18 months of age. At first, simply making holes is a fun and valuable experience. By around age three, children are often able to aim accurately for the dots and punch with greater precision, further developing hand-eye coordination.
The activity is very simple to prepare. First, an adult cuts out the ice floes. Once everything is ready, children use a child-sized single-hole punch to punch the dots around each ice floe illustration. Although simple, this activity requires concentration and is an excellent way to promote fine motor development and hand-eye coordination.
This set includes five different sheets featuring a seal family, orca family, polar bear family, penguin family, and walrus family. The pages are designed in A4 size and can be printed at home. Printing on slightly thicker paper or cardstock is recommended.
Hole punch activities help develop hand strength, finger control, fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and concentration. Children can also enjoy the sense of accomplishment that comes from completing the work independently.
Child-sized single-hole punches are readily available from stationery stores and online retailers.
Please note that this is a digital download product. The PDF file is included, but physical materials such as a single-hole punch, scissors, and paper are not included. Simply print the pages at home and enjoy.
